The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova to Georgia was Officially Opened
The members of Georgian government, Ministers, MPs, representatives of non-governmental organizations and different confessions attended the opening ceremony at the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel. Specially for this event the delegation members from Moldova including the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Anatol Vangheli, arrived in Georgia. The solemn ceremony began with the performance of national anthems of Georgia and Moldova performed by the Ensemble "Iberia”. The Honorary Consuls of the Republic of Moldova to Georgia, Isko Daseni and George Karazanishvili and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Anatol Vangheli addressed the audience. The second part of the event was dedicated to the Moldovan wine tasting. Moldovan Potpourri dance was performed. As the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova, Isko Daseni said in an interview with journalists, until now there was no Moldovan Embassy or Consulate in Georgia and it is opened for the first time. “I consider our countries to have much in common. We will start to work and I hope, in a few years there will be an Embassy. Together with George Karazanishvili, I will be glad to contribute to the two countries' relations.”- said Isko Daseni

The Moldovan government nominated former Foreign Minister, the country's first president Mircea Snegur's daughter, Natalia Gherman as a candidate for the post of the Secretary General of the United Nations.Moldova's former Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman is a candidate for the UN Secretary General from Eastern European countries.Her candidacy was nominated within the campaign "A Woman for UN Secretary-General" - which is interested in electing a woman for the mentioned position.Privileges for the new mandate are given to candidates from Eastern Europe, for the 9th UN Secretary General to be woman. It should be mentioned that, until now this high position was held by men. The Selection Committee decided that the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Natalia Gherman is a suitable candidate for this high position, given her impressing successes in creation of Free Trade Area with the European Union and liberalization of the visa regime for Moldovan citizens travelling to the European countries.In the letter addressed to the UN headquarters, the candidacy of Natalia Gherman is supported by the current Prime-Minister of Moldova, Pavel Filip. "The Government of the Republic of Moldova strongly supports the principle of gender equality in the selection of the Secretary-General of the United Nations. We are most confident that with her outstanding leadership and negotiation skills, her professional and personal qualities of high moral integrity and her dedication to furthering the goals of humanity as enshrined in the UN Charter, Ambassador Natalia Gherman is an excellent candidate for the post of the Secretary-General of the United Nations. "- said in the attached letter of Moldovan Prime-Minister.The representative of Moldova became the 6th registered candidate for the post of UN Secretary General.Besides her, the post is being sought by UNESCO Secretary General and former Bulgarian foreign minister Irina Bokova, former President of Slovenia Danilo Turk, the foreign ministers of Montenegro and Croatia Igor Lukic and Vesna Pusic, and former minister of foreign affairs of Macedonia Srgjan Kerim .The UN Secretary General election campaign began in December 2015, and the UN Security Council will begin considering candidates not later than in July 2016. Successor to the incumbent UN Secretary General, former Prime Minister of South Korea Ban Ki-moon will assume office on January 1, 2017. The elections will be held in fall during the meeting of UN General Assembly. The procedure involves the selection of the candidates by the Security Council and their submission for appointment to the member-states of the General Assembly.Natalia Gherman is the daughter of Moldova's first President Mircea Snegur. She has held the posts of Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Acting Prime-Minister of the Republic of Moldova, a deputy of the Moldovan Parliament; Ambassador to several countries and to the OSCE.

The delegation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova visited the Ministry of Corrections and Probation at the personal invitation of the Minister of Corrections Kakha Kakhishvili.
At the meeting Kakha Kakhishvili spoke about the implemented and ongoing reforms in the penitentiary system. The heads of penitentiary and the medical departments made presentations to the Moldovan side, where they discussed in more details the work performed and planned projects.
Minister of Corrections and Probation Kakha Kakhishvili offered the Moldovan First Deputy-Minister of Justice Eduard Serbenco, to sign a bilateral Memorandum between Moldova and Georgia, within the framework of which the cooperation between the two countries will continue.
The Moldovan delegation paid special attention on the existing challenges in planning and implementation of the reform, legislative changes and on the rehabilitation of convicts. According to the delegation, the reforms implemented in Georgian penitentiary system, are impressive and course chosen by the Ministry of Corrections will serve as an example for them. They have also expressed their willingness to get acquainted even more deeply with the specific issues and receive advices from the Georgian side. Eduard Serbenco invited Kakha Kakhishvili together with the employees to Moldova.

On 28 October, in Georgia was officially registered the Center of friendship of the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, the aim of which is:- Support and preservation of culture of the Moldovan community in Georgia.- The development and deepening of informational, social and cultural relations between the Republic of Moldova and Georgia.- Promoting protection of the legitimate interests of the Moldovan community members, residing in Georgia.- Support of civic integration processes.- The organization of cultural and educational activities.- Preservation of ethnic and cultural identity.- Promoting rapprochement of Georgian and Moldovan businessmen.The co-founders of the Center are Honorary Consul of the Republic of Moldova in Georgia, Isco Daseni and natives of Moldova, residing in Georgia, Alexandra Saulyak, Zoryana Chebotar, Aurica Croitor and Maria Simonishvili. The chairman of the Centre was unanimously elected Alexandra Saulyak, who stated: "The opening of the Center - is an important step in rapprochement of our countries. Thanks to Mr. Daseni, who brought us together "under his wing", we assumed the role of a connecting link of the future Centre and will try worthily fulfill the assigned on us mission."

Defence Minister of the Republic Anatolie Șalaru pays an official visit to Georgia. Defence Minister of Georgia Tinatin Khidasheli hosts her Moldavian counterpart.Following the official welcoming ceremony Defence Ministers held a meeting. Tinatin Khidasheli expressed gratitude for Moldavia’s political support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Regional security issues and current challenges were one of the main topics at the meeting. The sides discussed bilateral cooperation directions in defence sphere. Ministers highlighted future relations in military education sphere and experience sharing to the various directions. Defence Minister of Georgia offered her counterpart the slots for Moldavian military to Sachkhere Mountain Training School.Euro-Atlantic aspiration of Georgia and Moldavia was one of the main issues of discussion. As Tinatin Khidasheli outlined, implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package initiatives is among top priorities of the Georgian authority aiming to develop Georgia’s defence capabilities, increase interoperability with the Alliance and contribute to promoting regional stability in the region.Following the meeting Defence Ministers made statements with the media representatives. “We had a very interesting discussion regarding all challenges that Georgia and Moldavia faces to. Our countries have somehow common challenges. Occupation is one of the top problems for Georgia, as well as for Moldavia. Both countries do their best to strengthen European aspiration. We also referred to military cooperation issues. Georgia stands ready to share experience to the Moldavian Armed Forces and Defence Ministry in military and civil-military relations,” stated Tinatin Khidasheli.Anatolie Șalaru emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation and common challenges: “We renew bilateral cooperation after 20 years. Following the official visit to Georgia in 2014 our relation moved to a new step. Our countries aspirate to Euro-Atlantic integration. We need strong defence and armed forces to face all challenges both countries face to. We can share many experiences from the Georgian side as you are one step forward to NATO cooperation. Therefore, your experience to this direction is very important. We have planned to send our military to NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center in order to receive experience. Moldavian experts also schedule to visit Georgia to learn the ongoing reforms on the ground. We face to the common challenges and threats. We all know where these threats come from.”Anatolie Șalaru invited Georgian Defence Minister to Moldavia on official visit.Within the framework of the visit to Georgia, Anatolie Șalaru will participate in Defence and Security Conference. Tour to National Training Center “Krtsanisi” is also scheduled.

Под руководством Г. Хонелидзе в институте и в целомпо Молдавии были внедрены новые методы профилактики, диагностики и леченияонкологических заболеваний.При непосредственном участии Г. Хонелидзе в Кишиневе был построенновый уникальный хирургический комплекс института онкологи на 500 коек ионкологическая поликлиника.

Легендарные люди в Молдове - Реваз ЛомтадзеЖители Кожушны занимались виноделием с XIX века. Первый привитой виноград здесь появился в семье Чубук в 1905 году. Ломтатзе принял хозяйство в плачевном состоянии: убытки совхоза исчислялись 2 миллионами рублей. Через пару лет оно стало приносить 3 миллиона ежегодного дохода.С приходом Ломтадзе жизнь в Кожушне закипела с грузинским темпераментом. Через год Молдавский совхоз-техникум принял на учебу 1200 студентов — будущих специалистов среднего звена — виноградарей и механизаторов, в которых нуждались многие хозяйства. Жили студенты в двух новых пятиэтажных общежитиях. Главное достоинство техникума было в полноценной практике. Мальчишкам и девчонкам после усвоения теории доверяли современную технику, на которой они с увлечением работали на совхозных полях и в цехах винзавода.За четыре года своей трудовой феерии в Кожушне Ломтадзе построил детский сад для 320 ребятишек, проложил улицу из 50 коттеджей с красной черепицей, облицованных особым камнем с берегов Тисы. Спроектировал котельную, которая должна была отапливать село газом. Начал возводить торговый центр, гостиницу и кинотеатр на 450 зрителей. Заасфальтировал более 20 километров дороги и готовился открыть троллейбусную линию от центра села до Кишинева...
